After a full refurbishment (January 2006), the hotel 4-star Barceló Avenida is now one of the main reference points in Bilbao.

The hotel has 189 exterior rooms with great views, decorated in a stylish, modern, innovative fashion. 46 of these rooms belong to BIO2, a sector of the hotel designed with an Avant Garde style to offer additional features to suit every need of the contemporary international business traveller.

There are 16 meeting rooms available with natural light and a capacity of up to 800 people. These rooms feature the latest in communication and conferencing technology.

The Cybercorner business centre features the latest in new technology and internet access, with PCs and all the necessary peripherals ready and available for guests’ use.

Inside the hotel, you will also find the largest fitness centre in Bilbao (at an additional cost), featuring 2,100 m² of floor space devoted to health and exercise and featuring a complete spa (at an additional cost), a water circuit and a choice of specific relaxing and therapeutic spa treatments.

There is also a cafeteria and piano bar.

Food and beverages

Restaurant opens every working day for buffet breakfast, menu and a la cârte lunch and dinner. On weekends, chef Asier Lanz offers a special gastronomic menu which fuses basque and international cuisine with an author touch. On Sunday nights the restaurant remains closed, but the coffee shop offers a wide choice of quick dishes.

Area information

We are located next to the Basilica of Begoña in the historic quarter of downtown Bilbao, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, shops and parks.
The metro station is just 100 metres away from the hotel and the airport is only 16 km away and can be reached in approximately 12 minutes by car.

Tourists information

From A-8 head in the direction of Bilbao - Artxanda. After the cabin toll take the left tunnel and right after the tunnel exit right in the direction of Begona. After about 2 km you will pass through a short tunnel. The hotel is located right after this tunnel on the right-hand side.

From A-68 take exit Bilbao - Zabalburu. Follow directions for Begona until you pass through a short tunnel. The hotel is located right after this tunnel, on the right-hand side.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 18:00 on the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

All older children or adults are charged EUR 26.75 per night and person for extra beds.
